I am very excited to announce that hostess.fm is joining Beatport!
Almost two years ago, we launched our live streaming platform with the goal of helping DJs share their music with listeners around the world. Our first stream was with a Brazilian DJ duo called Maask, who agreed to try us out from their hometown club in southern Brazil. My co-founders, Guilherme Loures and Frederico Estante, and I spent weeks scrambling to get everything ready, and as soon as Maask started their set, we knew we were onto something. Texts from friends around the world started flying in. The stream was working, and it sounded great.
Since then, we’ve broadcasted thousands of hours of live music. We’ve worked with truly talented artists, including The Chainsmokers and Deorro, and streamed from some of the best clubs in New York, Mexico City, San Francisco, London, Dubai, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Japan. We’ve developed innovative software to help extend the music experience beyond the physical performance. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’ve loved every minute of it.
Beatport is the largest electronic music community in the world. We couldn’t imagine a better home for our product, and we’re thrilled to be joining the incredible team at Beatport. For us, this is just the beginning.
My co-founders and I would like to thank our users for their overwhelming support over the past two years. As part of the transition to Beatport, we will be shutting down our website and iOS app at the end of the month in order to focus our efforts on building an even better platform for live electronic music.
